We're getting excited about the inaugural edition of Felix LA, which will take place from February 14 - 17, 2019 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. The organizers of this boutique contemporary art fair invited 38 galleries from five continents to participate. Kavi Gupta is honored to be among the invitees.
Felix LA is the brainchild of art collector Dean Valentine and art dealers Alberto and Mills Morán of LA's Morán Morán gallery. The fair was conceived of as an alternative satellite event to the inaugural edition of Frieze Los Angeles, which will take place minutes away at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood, and the 10th edition of Art Los Angeles Contemporary, which will take place on the same weekend at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport.
Felix promises to stand out thanks to its unique mixture of large and mid-sized galleries, which will appeal to a broad cross section of collectors. It will also set itself apart thanks to the classic architectural charm of the hotel itself. The grand, dramatic interiors of the hotel will create a striking, intimate, salon-like atmosphere in which to present artworks to the public.
