YOUNG-IL AHN IN WESTERN HUMANITIES REVIEW

We are thrilled to congratulate Young-Il Ahn on making the cover of the latest issue of Western Humanities Review, one of the oldest and most respected literary journals in the United States. Founded in 1947, the WHR has published many of the most influential writers of the past century, including Raymond Carver, Wallace Stegner, Ursula Le Guin, and Robert Oppenheimer, and work first published in its pages has won the Pushcart Prize, the O. Henry Prize, and been included in anthologies such as Best American Short Stories, Best American Essays, and Best American Poetry.

Ahn's work is featured on the cover as well as in a 12-page center spread in the newest issue. The coverage includes eight beautiful, color photographs of paintings from his "Water Series," along with a lyrical essay by art writer and fiction author Phillip Barcio.

We are so honored to represent this living master, whose work is also currently on view in a major solo exhibition at our Elizabeth Street gallery. We believe Young-Il Ahn is one of the most exciting painters working today. At age 84, his technique and method are unsurpassed amongst his contemporaries, and we are so proud to see him receiving the critical acclaim and attention that he so richly deserves!
