We are proud to announce that The Milwaukee Record has ranked Tony Tasset‘s fearsome and lovable Blob Monster (2009) sculpture as the favorite among the 19 works curated into the 2020 exhibition of Sculpture Milwaukee.
Since its inaugural edition in 2017, Sculpture Milwaukee has become one of the most anticipated annual public art presentations in the Midwest. Each year, a selection of large-scale and site specific works by a host of renowned, international artists descend upon the Milwaukee metropolitan area, attracting thousands of visitors, and reminding members of the public of the role the enjoyment of visual art plays in everyday life. Tony Tasset has participated in three of the four editions so far. Other participating artists over the past four years include John Baldessari, Beverly Pepper, Max Ernst, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Robert Indiana, Kiki Smith, Hank Willis Thomas, Sol LeWitt, Jessica Stockholder, and many others.
