The latest episode of Open Studio with Jared Bowen looks at Iranian artist Arghavan Khosravi's first ever musem exhibit, Matthew López's play "The Inheritance", and an exhibit leaving the Peabody Essex Museum soon.
First he looks at artists Arghavan Koshravi. Her first museum exhibit is on view at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire. As a young woman in Iran, as an immigrant to this country, Khosravi has been subjected to the restrictions women face. But on the canvas, she renders it all through surrealist imagery, where she explores the themes of freedom, exile and oppression.
