The Bronx Museum of the Arts announced today that it has welcomed seven new members to its board of trustees. “They embody the tremendous resources our community has to offer, and will serve to help us continue realizing the potential of this museum through their range of skills and experiences,” executive director Deborah Cullen said.
The new members include Puerto Rican artist Angel Otero, whose first New York solo show was organized by the museum; Dana Emmott, the owner of Elden Services Company and the partner of the museum’s former director Holly Block, who passed away in October 2017; and Debbie Landau, cofounder and the first president and CEO of the Madison Square Park Conservancy, which is best known for its public art program. The conservancy is also the commissioning body of the United States’ national pavilion at the upcoming Venice Biennale.
Karen Robinovitz, cofounder and the former CEO of Digital Brand Architects, which manages social media influencers and other content creators; Mark Lu, principal of Terracina Real Estate Management; Nathaniel Wilcox, the associate dean for finance and human resources at the School of General Studies at Columbia University; and Susan Hinkson, executive vice president of the Real Estate, Land Use, and Zoning Practice Group at Capalino + Company have also joined the board.
The new memebers will contribute expertise in fields like financial planning, social media management, and the development of public spaces.
