Coinciding with Upstate Art Weekend, Frieze Connect members are invited to a special evening at the Edward Hopper House in Nyack. Executive Director Kathleen Motes Bennewitz will lead an exclusive walkthrough of Morning Sun, a new exhibition by Tomokazu Matsuyama that stages a rare and resonant dialogue with Edward Hopper's 1952 painting of the same name.
Featuring Matsuyama's newly commissioned work Morning Sun Dance (2025), the exhibition offers a compelling exploration of cross-cultural aesthetics, solitude, and contemporary identity. The walkthrough will be followed by a tour of the historic Edward Hopper House-where the artist was born and raisedand a wine reception on site.
This event takes place during Upstate Art Weekend, providing a unique opportunity for members already traveling to the region to engage in a curated experience aligned with the spirit of the weekend.
