The first short film by Haitian multidisciplinary artist Manuel Mathieu, Pendulum evokes the search for a balance between the past and the uncertain future of black peoples. A woman keeper of knowledge carries on her shoulders her most precious heritage: the liberation of her soul. From this heritage is born a spiritual choreography where men tame their own freedom while facing the complexity of their humanity. Like an exorcism, they assimilate their liberation under a shower of white comets. What will remain of their essence? A new day is dawning.
