Conversation with Deborah Kass & Jordana Pomeroy: Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, Miami, FL

To honor the closing of Tesoro: Pepe Mar's Love Letter to the Frost at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, artist Deborah Kass will be joinging the museum virtually for a conversation with Frost Art Museum Director Jordana Pomeroy at 3pm on Saturday, November 5. Kass will discuss her expansive career and the ways in which her practice acknowledges difference.

 

Deborah Kass Bio 

 

Deborah Kass is an artist whose work examines the intersection of art history, popular culture and the self. Her work is in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum of Art, The Guggenheim Museum, The Jewish Museum, The Museum of Fine Art, Boston, The New Orleans Museum of Art, as well as numerous other museums and private collections. 

 

Kass’s work has been shown nationally and internationally. The Andy Warhol Museum presented Deborah Kass, Before and Happily Ever After, Mid- Career Retrospective in 2012 with a catalogue published by Rizzoli. Her sculpture OY/YO is permanently installed in front of the Brooklyn Museum and the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University. 

 

In 2018 Kass was inducted into The National Academy. In 2014 Kass was inducted into the New York Foundation for the Arts Hall of Fame. She was honored with the Passionate Artist Award by the Neuberger Museum in 2016 and was the Cultural Honoree at the Jewish Museum in 2017. She serves on the boards of the Sharpe Walentas Studio Program and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
