I just liked her face. She has a regal presence about her that I wanted to capture. This is a dark skinned, beautiful Black woman, full lips. She’s emblematic of a Black woman being present and grateful in this environment of mess that we deal with. She’s damaged but she is still standing.”Exhibitions
