The composition represents the advent of a journey, as a jagged, terrestrial path merges at the horizon with its gleaming celestial twin. On one side of the image it's early, the dawn. Then that road eventually leads back to a setting sun. "It's a circular thing," says Beck. "It's all metaphorically a statement about life."Provenance
