Permanently installed in 2011 at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Neuron was originally installed at the 17th Biennale of Sydney, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia. Neuron represents the exploration of the dendritic structures of the human body, specifically, the brain and mental processes. Both a sculptural and conceptual challenge, Neuron stands solitary on its branches and the growth patterns move radially as opposed to a linear or binary manner. Neuron accompanies works by Mark Di Suvero, Louis Nevelson, Antony Gormley and Jonathan Borofsky at the permanent site of the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park.
