Found in an abandoned Southern Church, the desk had been appropriated for use as an altar. The Church was a little-known establishment, a longtime community center of little note outside of it’s long-since-gone African American congregation. The desk was a beautifully made piece, with careful detailing on the front which portrayed that it was made by a talented craftsmen in the community. Most intriguing about the piece, however, was a cleverly hidden drawer on it’s underbelly. Though the drawer was empty, it’s mere existence tickles one’s sense of intrigue at the desk’s origins and employ.
